BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE

To be responsible for all of the activities of the Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management (CRDM) department, including the global responsibility of each department’s clinical personnel management and clinical data production.  The individual will serve as the clinical manager to the CIED service line, department team leads and personnel.  The individual will serve as a primary resource to coordinate and oversee clinical personnel supervision, clinical training, and daily management of service line production.  Position includes: accountability for labor support (basic level, entry level, and reporting level); quality of data management, preliminary interpretation, complex data interpretation and adjudication; service line policy, procedure, process evaluation and management; assistance with employee training, competency certification/recertification, clinical productivity; and primary clinical customer relationships.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Demonstrate and maintain clinical expertise in CRDM technologies.
•Administration of workflow, policy and procedure, for all aspects of CRDM labor force clinical processes.
•Physically review and sign-off annually on all client clinical practice agreement(s), program(s) changes or initiative(s), and service line(s).  The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o          Clinical core competencies for division(s)
o          Administrative reference(s)
o          Quality standard(s)
o          Collaborative practice agreement(s)
o          Protocol development and management between departments and customers for clinical data management and patient care decision making, including reporting format/content and clinical notification criteria and processes.
o          Clinical processes, from patient enrollment to event reporting and clinical care patient communication and documentation.
•Responsible for managing the clinical department 24/7/365 and report as directed on clinical data management quality in the Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) department.
•Participate and be able to function in all aspects of department operations from basic through reporting level responsibilities with direct demonstration skills and measurable performance expertise.
•Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all CIED data management tools and their functionality (all CRDM Programmers and Implanted Devices, all CRDM Web Portals and Transmission methodologies/tools, CardioView Dx, or other technologies available in market place for purpose of clinical service line management of CIED platform).
•Administer and be responsible for maintenance of case management and internal quality control portfolios.
•Make sure that clinical department managers are qualified and credentialed professionals. Assist in searching, interviewing and selecting the best candidates for these positions.  Participate in define/update job descriptions for Remote and TTM department employees and supervision.
•Enhance clinical service workflows and quality standards to improve efficiency and quality; ensure that each clinical department adheres to the established processes and quality standards using a quality control mechanism.
•Evaluate and document changes to the workflow for all clinical services, update/develop work instructions and train department managers, supervisors, and team leads.  Monitor progress on a regular basis and provide written evaluation of each department’s performance on a monthly or quarterly basis.
•Administer clear measurable quality and efficiency objectives for each department.  Evaluate each department’s performance at the end of the month and propose corrective actions if necessary.
•Physically review and sign-off annually, along with the Clinical Director and department supervisors, on all client clinical practice agreements, program changes or initiatives. 
 
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o          Protocol development and management between departments and customers for clinical data management and patient care decision making, including reporting format/content and clinical notification criteria and processes;
o          Clinical processes, from patient enrollment to event reporting and clinical care patient communication and documentation; and
o          Collaborative practice agreements.
•Provide patient reporting, as necessary, and assist with troubleshooting and responding to clinical complaints from customers, as requested.
•Provide clinical training and coaching to department supervisors and technicians as needed.
•Administer clinical training programs for employees, and ensure that the training is provided to each new employee.
•Manage relationships with key physician customers on a clinical level.
•Clinical services departments will be required to follow established workflows and processes, and meet or exceed quality and efficiency objectives. The Clinical Services Manager will monitor and address any deviations directly with Clinical Director.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field.
•Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician Certification is required (CRAT). 
•Registered Health Provider Required (RN, NP, PA, RCES, etc…).
•2 years of clinical experience providing direct ‘care’ for individuals with CRDM monitoring needs
•2 years of clinical management experience providing oversight of individuals in the field of clinical electrophysiology or healthcare.
•Preferred certification (i.e. International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) competency in Cardiac Electrophysiology (Certified Electrophysiology Specialist, CEPS) and Certified Cardiac Device Specialist, CCDS)) or successful completion within 3 years of assuming position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Clinical Services Manager will be walking, standing, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling intermittently, and sitting continuously daily.  They will be required to reach or work below shoulder level.  Clinical Services Manager must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
