EKG/ECG Pruning Technician

Essential Duties:
The EKG Pruning technician will be responsible for providing patient care by analyzing cardiac rhythms for cardiac patients.

General Job Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates proper performance skills reflected and validated by cardiac monitoring competency tests
• Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Records, monitors, and interprets EKG patient data throughout Alliance Family of Companies (AFC) new and established territories
• Responds urgently and reacts calmly in emergent patient care situations and executes emergency protocols based on AFC and physician policies & procedures
• Provides telephonic support for patients during the study, including troubleshooting monitor devices and recording patient’s symptomatic events in real time
• Prunes, pre-screens, and prepares all patient cardiac data for the physician’s review and ensures that the patient’s final report is delivered to the correct facility and/or location
• Provides ongoing call support for AFC’s medical providers, locations, and facilities
• Demonstrates and models commitment to the vision, mission and values of Alliance Family of Companies

General Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
• One (1) year of EKG rhythm interpretation is required
• Nationally recognized and accredited certifications of CCT or CRAT through CCI is required
• Passing score of 85% or higher on Basic Arrhythmia exam issued during the interview process is required
• Must obtain a nationally recognized & accredited cardiac technician certification within 1 year of employment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
• Must be computer literate and previous experience with an EMR system is preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required
• Must react calmly in emergent situations and make appropriate and timely decisions
• Very strong organizational ability and logical problem solving ability
• Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed and weekend rotation is required
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
