ARRT Radiologic Technologist:
To perform operations of the radiological equipment with expertise and safety, to assist with the care of patients in the cath lab and perform the necessary documentation regarding the patients cardiac procedure(s).

OR

RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or RCES Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist:
To perform operations of specialized equipment with expertise and safety and to assist with all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

ARRT Radiologic Technologist:
1. Assists in the operation of specialized equipment including but not limited to the EP pacing systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and other specialized equipment.
2. Utilizes knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique in assisting with procedure preparation.
3. Assists with heart or vascular catheterization diagnostic and interventions.
4. Assist in preparation of patients for all procedures including setting up sterile trays; cross trains to scrub role and assist physician, when needed.
5. Performs responsibilities related to departmental charging of procedures and supplies.
6. Operation of radiologic equipment, demonstrating knowledge, and application of scientific principles of radiologic technology.
7. Follows safety practices and ensures safe, clean environment for the patients.
8. Assist with other achieving duties.
9. Assist with transportation of patients as needed.
10. Participates in direct patient care; is observant of symptoms and reactions of patients and takes appropriate action as changes occur.
11. Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients such as cardiac arrest.
12. Attends inservice programs, required training/education and unit/department/service meetings.
13. Aware of radiologic and other safety precautions and needs as they relate to the age of the patient. Specific ages are: adult and geriatric.

OR

RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist/ RCES Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist:
1. Assists with heart or vascular catheterization diagnostic and interventions.
2. Assists with cardiac electrophysiology, pacemaker and ICD implants.
3. Obtains and records precise cardiac and/or hemodynamic measurements and identifies abnormalities.
4. Assists in the operation of specialized equipment including but not limited to the EP pacing systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and other specialized equipment.
5. Manipulates diagnostic equipment.
6. Utilizes knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique in assisting with procedure preparation.
7. Assist in preparation of patients for all procedures including setting up sterile trays; cross trains to scrub role and assist physician, when needed.
8. Assist with transportation of patients as needed.
9. Follows safety practices and ensures safe, clean environment for the patients.
10. Performs responsibilities related to departmental charging of procedures and supplies as needed.
11. Is observant of symptoms and reactions of patients and takes appropriate action as changes occur.
12. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients such as cardiac arrest.
13. Attends inservice programs, required training/education and unit/departmental/service meetings.

• Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
• Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
• Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
• Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

ARRT Radiologic Technologist:
- Radiologic Technologist licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- (2) years experience in hospital cath lab with a minimum of one (1) year experience in hospital EP lab.

OR

RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist/ RCES Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES):
- from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- (2) years experience in hospital cath lab with a minimum of one (1) year experience in hospital EP lab.

Requirements for both (EP RN, ARRT, and RCIS):
Takes weekend and holiday call as needed. Must be able to respond within 20 minutes of a call-out.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Working Conditions

Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Is able to push stretcher/wheelchair with average adult patient. Is able to do frequent stooping and on occasion crouching, crawling or kneeling. Ability to reach reasonable distances in any direction. Ability to run in emergency situations. Must be able to move fingers in a coordinated manner. Must have ability to feel and perceive temperature, texture, shape and size with fingertips.

Includes exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals and hazard material.
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.

Medium work load.

This position requires contact with others including the patients, physicians, coworkers, team members and visitors. There may be times when there is interaction with another person that may be angry or aggressive and help to solve the situation may require requesting assistance of a more qualified individual. Communication may come in the form of electronic mail, face to face, telephone or letters/memos. This individual may be responsible as a team member to answer the department telephone and work in groups or teams.

Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
