Pediatric Echocardiography 

In this role, the Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer will perform outpatient transthoracic echocardiograms in neonates and other pediatric patients using ultrasound technology in WVUH’s Children’s Hospital. By gathering diagnostic images and other medical data, the sonographer will assist the cardiologist in reaching a medical diagnosis and treatment plan.
• To qualify, must be Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)/Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from CCI, with an emphasis in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred
• Minimum experience of 1 year within a certified echocardiography laboratory or vascular laboratory preferred
• Knowledge of digital echocardiography systems, IAC standards and requirements, and safety principles and procedures is also required

• Maintains the confidentiality of the patient and unit information, without infraction
• Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by volunteering to assist co workers, contributing ideas, and problem solving with co workers

We are located in Morgantown, West Virginia (just 50 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA).  WVU Hospitals, a 550-bed tertiary care center, Level 1 trauma center, and serves as the primary teaching destination for West Virginia University’s health professions schools.
