 Cath Lab

· Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular technology with a degree or certification preferred.

· Graduate accredited school of radiology technology with a degree or certification preferred.

· Ability to work within a team environment with staff of varying licenses, abilities, and responsibilities, including physicians, registered nurses, and technicians.

· Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for problem-solving and clinical decision-making and accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions.

· Ability to competency manages potentially unstable patient care situations during high-risk procedures.

· Discretion, good communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to operate x-ray equipment within the scope of licensure.

· Ability to provide advanced cardiac life support within the scope of licensure in the department and during transport/transfers.

· One (1) year experience as an invasive cardiovascular technician in a cardiac Cath lab preferred, OR One (1) year experience as a special procedures radiology technician preferred, and One (1) year experience of Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist experience.

· Current BLS is required.

· Certified Radiologic Technologist license issued by the State of California is required; or Registered Respiratory Therapist with demonstrated competency.

· ACLS required within 1 year of hire.

· Arrhythmia recognition course within 1 year of hire.

· Intra-Aortic Balloon pump certification required within 1 year of hire.

· ARRT is preferred

· RCIS certification highly desirable.

The Special Procedures Technologist within the Cardiovascular Laboratory is a knowledgeable and skilled professional primarily specialized in obtaining physiologic data for patient undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or interventional cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional coronary and peripheral procedures. This position is also required to participate as a scrub assistant during cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures.
