Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS): Who should pursue certification?

RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

The RCIS credential is designed for dedicated professionals like you who work in cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology. Whether you graduated from a cardiovascular technology program, nursing, radiologic technology, or another allied health field, there is a pathway for you. This computer-based exam is administered year-round at Pearson Professional Centers, subject to availability at the test centers. Locate a testing center closest to you.

Are you a health science graduate with job experience in invasive cardiovascular technology? If you hold a certificate or degree in a health science field (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology or nursing) with one year of full-time work experience in invasive cardiovascular technology and have performed 600 cardiac diagnostic/interventional procedures, you qualify for the RCIS examination.

Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES): Who should pursue certification?

Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), CCI India

The RCES credential is designed for dedicated professionals like you who work in cardiac electrophysiology. Whether you graduated from a cardiovascular technology program, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, or paramedic/EMT there is a pathway for you. This computer-based exam is administered year-round at Pearson Professional Centers, subject to availability at the test centers. Are you a health science graduate with job experience in electrophysiology? If you hold a certificate or degree in a health science field (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, or paramedic/EMT) with one year of full-time work experience in electrophysiology, you qualify for the RCES examination. It is anticipated, but not required, that successful candidates will have participated in a minimum of 200 diagnostic/interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures and 300 device implants at the time of application. It is recommended that applicants have experience in diagnostic/interventional procedures, advanced mapping, and device implants (pacemaker, ICD, and CRT).

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS): Who should pursue Certification?

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), CCI India

The RCS credential is designed for dedicated professionals like you who work in echocardiography. Whether you graduated from a health science program such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing, there is a pathway for you. If you hold a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in a health science field (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) with one year of full-time work experience in echocardiography and have performed 600 cardiac ultrasound studies, you qualify for the RCS examination.

  • Copy of completion certificate or educational transcript from the University
  • Employment verification letter verifying one year of full-time employment in a specialty
