CCI: How has your credential impacted your career opportunities, and does it bring you confidence?

Mohan: As someone deeply involved in the field of cardiovascular technology, I place great emphasis on professional development and the acquisition of credentials.

For many years, I have dedicated myself to honing my skills and gaining valuable experience in this specialized area of healthcare. In 2011, I achieved a significant milestone in my career by earning my RCIS credential, a feat that not only bolstered my confidence but also sharpened my edge in the industry. The attainment of this credential provided me with an invaluable sense of empowerment and positioned me as a more capable and knowledgeable professional. It instilled within me a determination to strive for continual improvement and a dedication to sharing my expertise with others.

CCI: What driving force keeps you growing, learning, and improving patient’s lives?

Mohan: Rather than seeking opportunities abroad, I made a conscious decision to remain in my home country, India, with the goal of serving my fellow technologists and contributing to the advancement of the field here.

The credential not only elevated my technical abilities but also ignited a fervent drive within me to further my learning and enhance the lives of patients through my work. It validated my passion for the field and fueled my commitment to advocating the importance of continuous learning and professional development.

My vision extends beyond personal growth; I aspire to see a world where all cardiovascular professionals are equipped with confidence and capability. With this ambitious vision in mind, I set out on a mission to mentor 10,000 cardiovascular technologists through coaching, training, and knowledge updates. I recognize the potential for significant impact and I am dedicated to building a community of technologists, where I can share my knowledge, offer guidance, and provide unwavering support to my colleagues and students.

CCI: Does holding a credential help convey your commitment to career development and dedication to patient care?

Mohan: Organizing conferences for cardiovascular technologists, aimed at uniting technologists and fostering a culture of learning and support, was a pivotal step in my journey. The ripple effect of my dedication and mentorship became evident as I witnessed the positive changes taking place within the industry.

Through my commitment and passion, I not only enhanced my own skills but also catalyzed a wave of positive change in the cardiovascular technology field. This journey serves as a testament to the transformative power of continual learning and knowledge sharing. It reinforces the notion that by dedicating oneself to growth and disseminating knowledge, one can make a meaningful difference and provide patients with the high-quality care they deserve.
